Pharmacy Research UK (PRUK) has published its inaugural annual research report, which highlights the impact its funding and researchers have had since PRUK’s launch in 2012 and throughout 2015. The report also takes the opportunity to share with readers its vision for the future.
Since its launch, PRUK has awarded nearly £1.2 million to support research capacity building within pharmacy across the UK. This includes funding 37 projects and supporting over 20 pharmacists to develop their research skills and take their first steps into research. The charity also supports the annual Health Service and Pharmacy Practice Research (HSRPP) Conference, and in partnership with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, provides outreach and training to pharmacy professionals across the UK.
Dr Rachel Joynes, Head of Research and Evaluation at PRUK, said, ‘We are very excited to be publishing our first Pharmacy Research UK Research Review which highlights the impact of our funding on improving pharmacy services and patient care. This has been possible thanks to our continued partnerships with leading UK organisations, including the UK Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA) and the Daphne Jackson Trust. We continue to make steps towards achieving our vision to improve the health of the public through excellence in pharmacy research by building partnerships across sectors and disciplines.’
