An in-depth investigation conducted by The Guardian, and revealed today, has put Boots under the scrutiny spotlight following allegations of NHS manipulation.

The biggest pharmacist in the country is reported to have encouraged employees to abuse the medicine reviews scheme in order to boost its earnings.

The NHS pays £28 per each medicine-use review, with each pharmacy only being permitted to carry out a particular number. Boots has allegedly been directing staff to consider this number a target they must hit.

Other shocking claims in the investigation focus on the damage the chain poses to both employee and patient safety, as well as how it has been radically stripped of its core values.
