Many pharmacy students from the University of Nottingham attended the BPSA Eastern Area Conference in Leicester on 13th February, travelling on a coach arranged by the school.

The conference was a great opportunity for the students to learn more about the about the profession as well as meet students from other schools. Our students took part in the quizzes run at the conference, winning a number of prizes, including Pharmaceutical Press books.

Third year student Ju Yan Teng said, ‘I enjoyed this conference very much. I was so amazed by the wide range of exciting roles of pharmacists in different sectors from industry to community project which cross the globe and collaborate with multiple international companies.’

Another 3rd year student, Daren Ling, commented, ‘The activities at the conference were carefully planned in order to give us a flavour of the different emerging roles of pharmacists around the world in different fields. Particularly, the involvement of pharmacist in ‘doctors without borders’ captured my attention. It was a very new idea to me. I was amazed by how crucial were the roles of pharmacists in ensuring the optimum functioning of the organisation.’
